Destination Guide

St. Lucia

Lush mountains, dramatic coastlines, private plunge pools, Piton views, and romantic hideaways. St. Lucia is perfect for destination weddings and honeymoons that deserve a little main character energy.

Plan My St. Lucia Trip
Why St. Lucia Works

Romance, rainforest, and views that do not look real.

St. Lucia is one of the most romantic islands in the Caribbean. It is known for the Pitons, lush mountain views, cliffside resorts, private plunge pools, waterfalls, mud baths, and scenery that feels more dramatic than your average beach escape.

This is not the island I would choose for a wild girls trip or giant party group. This is the island for couples who want an unforgettable wedding backdrop or a honeymoon that feels elevated, private, and wildly romantic.

St. Lucia is best for destination weddings and honeymoons where romance, scenery, privacy, and experience matter more than nightlife or nonstop resort chaos.

The St. Lucia Reality Check

What to know before you book the Piton-view suite.

St. Lucia is magical, but the island is mountainous and many of the best resorts are not right next to the airport.

Transfers can take a while.

Many resorts are farther from the airport, and the roads can be long, winding, and hilly.

Motion sickness matters.

If you are prone to carsickness, you may want to consider a ferry or helicopter transfer instead of a long car ride.

It is not the cheapest island.

St. Lucia leans romantic and luxury-focused, especially for the most iconic resorts and views.

Not every resort is beach-first.

Some resorts are cliffside, hillside, or focused on views and privacy more than wide beachfront layouts.

Important Transfer Note

St. Lucia transfers can be long and winding because many resorts are farther from the airport. If you are prone to getting car sick, I strongly recommend looking at a ferry or helicopter transfer instead.

This does not mean St. Lucia is not worth it — it just means the arrival plan matters. The views are dreamy, but the roads can humble even the cutest travel outfit.

St. Lucia is where you can wake up to mountain views, soak in mineral springs, chase waterfalls, and end the night with a candlelit dinner.

Airport

Most U.S. travelers fly into Hewanorra International Airport, known as UVF.

Transfer Style

Car transfers can be long and winding. Ferry and helicopter options may be worth considering for comfort and speed.

Best Vibe

Romantic, lush, scenic, private, elevated, and best for couples who want a memorable wedding or honeymoon.
